Texas border patrol arrest indivdual after exposing human smuggling with 17 illegal aliens in home
Authorities in Texas have uncovered an alleged human smuggling operation involving over a dozen individuals inside a home in Laredo. The Texas Department of Public Safety and Laredo Border Patrol conducted an operation on December 17, where they found 17 individuals who were illegally present in the United States.
One person, believed to be the caretaker of the group, was taken into custody and charged with human smuggling. The identities of the 17 individuals and the caretaker have not been disclosed by authorities. A photo shared on Laredo Border Patrol’s social media account shows 10 individuals sitting on the kitchen floor inside the home.
This discovery comes shortly after another human smuggling operation was uncovered in the same town. Two American citizens were arrested on December 8 for allegedly smuggling four illegal aliens into their Laredo home. The individuals, from Guatemala, Mexico, and Honduras, were found inside the residence and are now facing deportation.
According to data released by US Customs and Border Patrol, Laredo had 4,400 land border encounters in the 2025 fiscal year, with the entire southwest region of Texas seeing a total of 103,124 encounters within the same time frame.
Border patrol officials are cracking down on illegal immigration and smuggling activities in the region. The Texas Department of Public Safety has not provided any further comments on the recent operations. It is important to address these issues to maintain border security and prevent illegal activities from occurring.
