Texas mortuary worker Adeline Ngan-Binh Bui charged with experimenting on corpses at Austin business
A shocking case has emerged in North Austin, where a mortuary employee, Adeline Ngan-Binh Bui, is facing serious felony charges. The allegations include conducting experiments on corpses and obtaining death certificates through fraudulent means.
Bui has been charged with one count of state-jail felony abuse of a corpse and five counts of second-degree felony tampering with governmental records. The incidents in question date back to at least August 2022, as per court documents obtained by FOX 7.
A former embalmer at Capital Mortuary Services came forward with disturbing claims against Bui. He alleged that Bui had obtained at least ten death certificates under his name and license number without consent. Additionally, he accused Bui of conducting experiments on severed anatomical structures, specifically injecting formaldehyde into the arms of an unknown deceased individual to observe the effects over time.
In response to these allegations, a cease-and-desist letter was issued to the mortuary on April 10, citing violations of building, health, and safety codes. The funeral home was ordered to immediately cease all operations.
Further investigations revealed that Bui had allegedly used the former embalmer’s electronic signature to sign eight death certificates. The embalmer clarified that he was not employed as a funeral director at Capital Mortuary Services but worked as a crematory operator, driver, and embalmer.
Communication between Bui and a former employee raised more red flags. In December 2023, Bui discussed a fraudulent certificate and shared images of severed arms in various stages of decomposition, referring to the experiment in progress. Shockingly, the body parts were eventually cremated in a disturbed state.
Bui’s legal team has emphasized the importance of a fair and thorough evaluation of the evidence. They have called for due process and fairness in handling the case. Meanwhile, Capital Mortuary Services has been shut down in light of these disturbing revelations.
This case highlights the need for vigilance and accountability in the funeral industry to ensure the proper handling of deceased individuals and the integrity of death certificates. It serves as a stark reminder of the importance of upholding ethical standards and respecting the dignity of the deceased.
