Texas substitute teacher, boyfriend charged in child sexual assault investigation

A former substitute teacher in Texas, Madison Paige Jones, and her boyfriend have been arrested for engaging in inappropriate sexual contact with a child and possession of child pornography. Jones, 30, faced charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child, indecency with a child sexual contact, and possession of child pornography after her arrest in Midlothian on December 19. She was taken into custody with a bond set at $90,000.

According to reports, Jones worked as a substitute teacher for the Midlothian Independent School District but did not commit the alleged crimes at district schools or with any district students. The district confirmed that Jones had substituted four times in the past year, including at Heritage High School and Baxter Elementary. Once the district became aware of her alleged crimes, Jones was immediately terminated from her position.

Following Jones’s arrest, her boyfriend, Zackery Dondlinger, 37, was also arrested in connection with the case. Dondlinger was charged with sexual performance by a child and apprehended in Loving County on December 23. The couple, who were in a dating relationship, are currently facing legal proceedings for their alleged offenses.

The investigation into the case is ongoing, with authorities working with various agencies to gather information and evidence. The Midlothian Police Department acknowledged the assistance of the Ellis County Children’s Advocacy Center, the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Texas Office of the Attorney General’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit, and the Loving County Sheriff’s Office in locating and apprehending Dondlinger.
