‘The Studio’ Season 2 Starts Filming Next Week, Seth Rogen Confirms
Apple TV’s “The Studio” is gearing up for Season 2 after its recent success at the Golden Globes. Seth Rogen, star and executive producer of the show, revealed that filming will begin next week. The series, produced by Lionsgate, won multiple awards at the Golden Globes, including best comedy or musical TV series.
Season 1’s Episode 8 took place at the Golden Globes, making the actual event on Sunday night a surreal experience for the cast and crew. Rogen hinted that Season 2 may even feature a return trip to the Globes, with events from the evening inspiring future episodes.
Rogen shared that they have incorporated real-life events from the Golden Globes into the upcoming season, including possible cameos by individuals who expressed interest in appearing on the show. He mentioned that even studio heads like Tom Rothman from Sony Pictures are eager to make guest appearances, following in the footsteps of Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos, who appeared in Season 1.
In addition to winning best comedy/musical series, Rogen also took home the award for best actor in a TV comedy. The show made history at the Emmy Awards, winning 13 Emmys and breaking the record for most wins for a comedy series. Rogen himself tied the record for most Emmys won by an individual in one night.
Filming for Season 2 of “The Studio” will once again take place in Los Angeles, thanks to $13.2 million in California tax credits. While production was initially rumored to start in December, it is now set to begin in January. The premiere date for Season 2 on Apple TV has not been confirmed yet.
The star-studded cast of “The Studio” includes Rogen, Catherine O’Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz, and Chase Sui Wonders. The show’s executive producers are Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, and others.
Nominated for three Golden Globes this year, “The Studio” continues to garner critical acclaim and recognition. With its unique blend of comedy and drama, the series promises to deliver more entertainment and surprises in Season 2.
