Thieves caught stealing over 1,000 restaurant chairs in Spain

Spanish police have made a significant breakthrough by arresting a criminal group involved in the theft of outdoor seating chairs from restaurants and bars in Madrid. The group, consisting of six men and a woman, managed to steal over 1,100 chairs from 18 different establishments in Madrid and Talavera de la Reina within a span of two months. The estimated value of the stolen property amounts to around 60,000 euros ($69,000).

The suspects operated at night, targeting outdoor seating areas where chairs were left unattended. They were able to resell the stolen chairs not only in Spain but also in countries like Morocco and Romania. The group has been charged with theft and belonging to a criminal organization.
