Thomas Massie Fires Back After Trump Attacks His Marriage

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) responded on Sunday to President Donald Trump’s recent social media attack on his marriage. Massie appeared on ABC’s “This Week” and stated, “We’re taking it with a grain of salt. He’s being a bully or trying to be a bully.”

Massie, who married Carolyn Grace Moffa in October, lost his first wife, Rhonda Howard Massie, his high school sweetheart, who died suddenly in June 2024 after more than 30 years of marriage. Trump criticized Massie’s marriage on Friday.

During his “This Week” interview, Massie humorously dismissed Trump’s comments, jokingly saying, “You know, my wife told me, she said, ‘I told you so ― we should have invited Donald Trump. He’s mad that he didn’t get an invitation.’”

Massie has been targeted by Trump for sponsoring a House discharge petition to release files related to Jeffrey Epstein. The bipartisan effort to release the files has gained support from lawmakers on both sides. Trump initially opposed the release but later changed his stance and urged Republicans to support it after it became evident that the bill would pass easily.

The House is set to vote on the matter this week.
