Thuma plans to open furniture store in Denver’s Cherry Creek
Cherry Creek Welcomes New Swanky Showroom
Thuma, a renowned furniture brand with locations in New York’s SoHo and San Francisco, is set to make its debut in Denver at 257 Fillmore St. by the summer, as confirmed by the company to BusinessDen.
Established in 2017, Thuma’s flagship store opened in New York City in 2024. The brand is best known for its sleek minimalist beds that customers can assemble using Japanese joinery techniques. The pieces are crafted to fit seamlessly without the need for screws, making assembly tool-free.
Thuma’s signature queen bed frame and headboard are priced at $2,000, with additional offerings including sofas, tables, rugs, and other furniture accessories.
The upcoming Cherry Creek store will occupy the entire 5,800-square-foot space of a 2-story building, with construction estimated at $600,000 according to permit filings.
The property at 257 Fillmore was previously home to a clothing store and hat boutique and is owned by Kevin Beck, who acquired it for $1 million in 2014. Beck, who recently acquired another Cherry Creek property at 3035 E. Third Ave., where Cucina Colore operates, is contemplating the development of an office building on the site.
Cherry Creek has seen an influx of showrooms in recent years, with companies like Saatva, Ballard Designs, Natuzzi Italia, Joybird, and Roche Bobois setting up shop. Arhaus is also set to join the mix by leasing space in BMC Investments’ upcoming apartment building at 299 Milwaukee St.
