Times Square ad takes aim at ‘radical socialist’ Mamdani, urges NYers to flee to Ohio

New Times Square Ad Encourages New Yorkers to Move to Ohio

A new digital billboard set to debut in Times Square on Monday is urging New Yorkers to “flee” Zohran Mamdani and consider moving to Ohio instead. The ad, paid for by “Vivek Super PAC – Victors, not Victims,” aims to support Vivek Ramaswamy’s Republican gubernatorial candidacy in Ohio.

The $50,000 billboard is positioned as a response to Mamdani, the 33-year-old socialist who recently won the Democratic primary for New York City mayor. Both Ramaswamy and Mamdani are of Indian descent and are seen as rising stars in their respective parties.

The ad reads, “Worried About Zohran? Ohio Is Waiting For You!” and is part of a campaign by VPAC to promote Ramaswamy as a conservative trailblazer committed to liberty and prosperity for all.

Andy Surabian, chief strategist to VPAC, stated, “While Mamdani will further crush New York City with his job-killing socialist tyranny, Vivek is ready to unleash freedom, supercharge the American dream, and make Ohio a state of excellence.”

The billboard will be on display in Times Square for a week, encouraging New Yorkers to consider a move to Ohio for freedom and prosperity.

Despite its lower cost of living, Ohio was only the 20th most popular state for New Yorkers to move to as of 2022 data from the Census Bureau. However, the pro-Ramaswamy super PAC has raised $17 million to support his 2026 run for governor.

Ramaswamy, an Ohio businessman, gained national attention with his candidacy for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. Recent polling shows him leading the GOP field by a significant margin.

Mamdani’s campaign has not yet responded to the billboard or the campaign encouraging New Yorkers to consider relocating to Ohio.
