Troubling details emerge in ex-Giant Sam Beal’s bizarre disappearance

It has been seven months since former Giant Sam Beal went missing, and a recent missing persons report filed with the Kentwood Police Department in Michigan sheds more light on the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.

According to the police report obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request, a witness revealed that Beal had made troubling statements such as “if I was gone nobody would even care” between 2023 and 2025. Beal was last seen in July 2025 after dropping off his girlfriend at a family member’s home and borrowing her car to go to work. He then drove to Virginia Beach and has not been heard from since.

The report indicated that Beal had been going through a difficult period following the end of his NFL career. He had also spent time in jail from September 2024 to February 2025 for unpaid child support related to a child from a previous relationship. The witness mentioned that Beal seemed “a little off” after his release from jail.

TMZ reported that Beal had stopped taking prescribed medication, adding another layer to the mystery surrounding his disappearance. The police report mentioned that Beal had been working at Amazon in Kentwood, and a miscommunication between his family and the witness delayed the filing of a missing person’s report until August.

Beal’s sister, Essence Zhane, made a public plea on social media for any information on her brother’s whereabouts. However, there have been no updates from the Kentwood PD regarding the case. The Virginia Beach Police Department is actively supporting the investigation led by the Kentwood PD.

Despite multiple attempts to contact Beal and checks with hospitals in the Virginia Beach area, there have been no leads on his whereabouts. Beal played in nine games for the Giants, starting three in 2019 and three in 2021 after playing college football at Western Michigan.

In an emotional interview with WTKR in Virginia, Zhane expressed her love for her brother and the impact his absence has had on his family. She pleaded for Beal to reach out or return home, emphasizing the love and longing his family feels for him.

The NFL Players Association is aware of the situation but has not provided further comment. As the search for Sam Beal continues, his family and authorities remain hopeful for his safe return.
