Truck driver charged with killing newlyweds in horror crash is illegal migrant: feds

Illegal Immigrant Truck Driver Charged in Deadly Oregon Crash

A tragic accident in Oregon has left a newlywed couple dead after a horrific crash involving a commercial truck driven by an illegal immigrant. Rajinder Kumar, a 32-year-old Indian national, was arrested following the collision in Bend on November 24, which claimed the lives of William Carter and his wife, Jennifer Lower.

Kumar, who was in the US illegally and had been released into the country by the Biden administration, was granted a commercial driver’s license in California by Governor Gavin Newsom’s Department of Motor Vehicles. He was also given work authorization in 2023, according to federal authorities.

This incident is not an isolated one, as other illegal migrants have been involved in fatal accidents after being allowed to remain in the country. Harjinder Singh was arrested in Florida in August for a wreck that resulted in three fatalities. In the same month, Partap Singh, also an illegal immigrant from India, caused a multi-car pileup in California that left a child with life-altering injuries.

In a separate incident in October, Jashanpreet Singh, another illegal migrant, was arrested for an alleged drunken crash in California that resulted in the deaths of three individuals.

The Department of Homeland Security has issued an immigration detainer for Kumar, emphasizing the need to prevent such tragedies by keeping illegal aliens from operating commercial vehicles on American roads. Tricia McLaughlin, assistant secretary of DHS, condemned the actions of sanctuary politicians who allow these individuals to pose a threat to public safety.

As ICE continues its efforts to remove illegal alien truck drivers from the nation’s highways, the families of William and Jennifer are in our thoughts and prayers. The series of accidents involving illegal migrants behind the wheel serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of lax immigration policies and the need for stricter enforcement measures.
