Trump Angrily Calls for CNN to Fire Reporter Over Iran Nuclear Strikes Story

President Trump has once again taken aim at media outlets that have reported information he disagrees with. This time, he has singled out a CNN reporter, Natasha Bertrand, and called for her to be fired from the network and “thrown out ‘like a dog.'”

On Tuesday, CNN was the first to report that Trump’s military strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities did not completely destroy the core components of the country’s nuclear program. The report cited an early US intelligence assessment from the Pentagon’s Defense Intelligence Agency. Other news organizations, including the New York Times, the Associated Press, and ABC News, corroborated CNN’s findings.

Despite Trump’s claims of the “total obliteration” of Iran’s nuclear weapons program, he admitted to reporters at a NATO summit that the intelligence on the strikes was inconclusive. This led to his outburst against Natasha Bertrand on social media.

In a scathing post on Truth Social, Trump accused Bertrand of spreading fake news and called for her immediate reprimand and dismissal from CNN. He specifically referenced a story she had written for Politico in 2020 about Hunter Biden’s laptop, claiming that she had lied in her reporting.

CNN stood by Bertrand and her colleagues’ reporting on the intelligence assessment of the US attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities. The network defended its coverage, stating that it was in the public interest to accurately report on the findings of the assessment.

Bertrand, along with Katie Bo Lillis and Zachary Cohen, were the CNN reporters who worked on the story. The White House issued a press release refuting the claims made by CNN and other news outlets, citing sources that supported their narrative of the successful strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

In response to the backlash from Trump, CNN and the New York Times, the former president continued to attack the media on social media, accusing them of demeaning the success of the military strikes in Iran.

Overall, the controversy surrounding the reporting of the US military strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities highlights the ongoing tension between the Trump administration and the media. Despite differing narratives, it is essential for news organizations to uphold journalistic integrity and report on important events accurately and fairly.
