Trump Says He Was Not Responsible For Ending Colbert’s ‘Late Show’

Donald Trump Denies Involvement in CBS Canceling “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert”

Former President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to address accusations that he was responsible for the cancellation of “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” on CBS. Trump vehemently denied any involvement, stating that the decision was due to financial losses and a lack of talent.

According to Trump, the $50 million a year in losses incurred by CBS and Colbert’s alleged lack of talent were the primary reasons for the show’s cancellation. He emphasized that the decision was not his doing, despite widespread beliefs to the contrary.

Trump also took aim at other late-night hosts, suggesting that Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon could be next in line for cancellation. He described Kimmel as “even less talented” and Fallon as “weak and very insecure,” predicting their downfall in the industry.

As speculation swirls about the future of late-night television, Seth Meyers, host of “Late Night With Seth Meyers,” expressed uncertainty about the industry’s support for such shows. He admitted that the fate of his own program is beyond his control, highlighting the challenges faced by late-night hosts in an ever-evolving media landscape.
