Trump welcomes US men’s Olympic hockey team to White House after gold-medal victory

The US men’s Olympic hockey team, fresh off their gold medal win, had the honor of meeting President Trump in the Oval Office before attending the State of the Union address. During the visit, winger Matthew Tkachuk playfully allowed Trump to wear his gold medal, prompting laughter from the rest of the team.

Trump extended an invitation to both the men’s and women’s Olympic hockey teams to attend the State of the Union address, but the women’s team declined. With the last-minute invite, House Speaker Mike Johnson mentioned that they were working quickly to figure out the logistics for accommodating the team at the event.

The team, who had just arrived back in South Florida from Milan, departed for Washington D.C. on an Air Force plane. Videos shared on their Instagram accounts showed them embracing the travel experience to the fullest.

After celebrating their victory with a steak dinner in South Florida, the team continued their festivities at a popular Miami nightclub, E11even. Their whirlwind of celebrations and travel showcased their excitement and pride in their Olympic achievement.
