‘Tulsa King’ Renewed for Season 4, Terence Winter to Return
“Tulsa King” Renewed for Season 4 with Terence Winter Returning
Exciting news for fans of the hit crime drama “Tulsa King” as Paramount+ has officially renewed the series for a fourth season. Not only that, but industry insiders at Variety have revealed that acclaimed writer Terence Winter will be making a return behind the scenes of the show.
The announcement of the renewal comes just in time for the highly anticipated Season 3 premiere of Taylor Sheridan’s gripping series, scheduled for September 21. Earlier reports in November 2024 hinted at Sylvester Stallone, the lead of the show, negotiating a new deal to stay on board at least until Season 4.
Terence Winter, the original showrunner and executive producer for Season 1 of “Tulsa King,” left before the second season but has now come back as a writer and executive producer for the upcoming Season 4. Winter’s absence in Season 3 was due to his involvement in another project centered around mobster Sammy “The Bull” Gravano at FX. For the upcoming season, Winter will take on the role of head writer in addition to executive producing. Season 3’s showrunner, Dave Erickson, will not be returning as he focuses on running another Sheridan series, “Mayor of Kingstown.”
The official synopsis for Season 3 teases intense drama as Dwight’s (Stallone) empire faces new threats and challenges, particularly from the formidable Dunmires, a wealthy family operating by their own ruthless rules in Tulsa.
Joining Stallone in the cast for Season 3 are a talented ensemble including Martin Starr, Jay Will, Annabella Sciorra, Neal McDonough, and more. Additionally, Samuel L. Jackson will make guest appearances in multiple episodes before leading his own spinoff series, “NOLA King,” set to start filming in early 2026.
However, there have been changes in the showrunner lineup for “NOLA King,” with Erickson stepping down from the role. As of now, a replacement showrunner has not been announced.
“Tulsa King” boasts an impressive lineup of executive producers including Taylor Sheridan, Sylvester Stallone, and others. The show is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution and produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios.
