Twisted ‘Greggy’s Cult’ targeted kids as young as 11 to create child porn — then urged them to commit suicide: feds
A disturbing online cult known as “Greggy’s Cult” has been exposed for terrorizing and blackmailing children on gaming platforms, coercing them into performing sick sexual acts on camera. The cult members, including Hector Bermudez from Queens, targeted children as young as 11 on platforms like Discord, Roblox, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive from 2019 to 2021.
The twisted cult used video calls to manipulate children into engaging in sexually explicit acts, sometimes with household objects, which they recorded and shared online. Victims were forced to mark their bodies with the cult members’ names and beg for forgiveness, proving their loyalty to the group. The perpetrators also went as far as instructing some victims to take their own lives, with one child being told to overdose or hang themselves from a ceiling fan.
The cult used malware to lock minors out of their computers until they complied with their demands, making it difficult for victims to escape the abuse. The youngest victim targeted by the cult was only 11 years old, highlighting the vulnerability of children online.
Law enforcement officials, including US Attorney General Pam Bondi and NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch, have condemned the actions of the cult and emphasized the importance of protecting children from online predators. In addition to Bermudez, four other members of the cult have been indicted, including Zachary Dosch, Rumaldo Valdez, David Brilhante, and Camden Rodriguez.
The suspects face charges of sexual exploitation of a minor, distribution of child pornography, access with intent to view child pornography, and conspiracy to communicate interstate threats. Valdez is already serving time on another federal case, while the FBI is urging any potential victims to come forward by calling 1-800-CALL-FBI.
The case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers that children face online and the need for vigilance in protecting them from predators who seek to exploit and harm them.
