US-led coordination center overseeing Gaza rebuilding to be operational in coming days, officials say

A newly-established U.S.-led coordination center in Israel is set to oversee the implementation of a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, according to two U.S. officials who spoke to ABC News. The center, which will be operational in the coming days, is tasked with coordinating security, aid, and rebuilding efforts within Gaza. Initially, the center will be led by a U.S. three-star general, with a foreign deputy equivalent to a two-star officer.

Located inside Israel, northeast of Gaza at a undisclosed location for security reasons, the coordination center will not be situated on an Israeli military base to facilitate accessibility to officials from other countries involved in Gaza’s reconstruction efforts. The center is expected to play a crucial role in executing the complex logistics required to rebuild and secure Gaza following years of conflict.

In preparation for the task ahead, President Trump has deployed 200 U.S. troops specialized in transportation, planning, logistics, and security to assist with the coordination efforts. These troops will collaborate with representatives from partner nations, the private sector, and non-governmental organizations to ensure efficient aid distribution and security measures within Gaza.

The command center is set to achieve “initial operational capability” in the coming days, marking the beginning of its full-fledged operations. Additionally, discussions are ongoing regarding the formation of an International Stabilization Force, with countries like Indonesia, Egypt, the UAE, Qatar, Azerbaijan, and other Arab and Muslim nations offering their support.

Senior White House advisers have confirmed the progress in establishing the International Stabilization Force, emphasizing positive conversations and planning between all parties involved. As the coordination center gears up for its critical role in Gaza’s reconstruction, international cooperation and support are crucial for ensuring stability and progress in the region.
