US military kills 3 in latest strike on a suspected drug vessel in the Pacific
The recent strike by the U.S. military on a suspected drug vessel in the Pacific resulted in the killing of three alleged narco-terrorists. This action, directed by Gen. Francis L. Donovan, targeted a vessel operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations engaged in narco-trafficking operations along known routes in the Eastern Pacific.
This marks the fourth strike of its kind announced by U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) this week. With at least 42 strikes on alleged drug-smuggling vessels, a total of 147 individuals have been killed in the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific regions.
SOUTHCOM, responsible for military operations in Central and South America and the Caribbean, focuses on counter-narcotics missions aimed at disrupting drug trafficking networks that pose a threat to U.S. interests. Earlier in the week, the command carried out three strikes in the Eastern Pacific and Caribbean, resulting in the deaths of 11 male narco-terrorists across different vessels.
Notably, no U.S. military forces were harmed during these operations. The commitment to combatting drug trafficking activities remains a top priority for SOUTHCOM in safeguarding regional security and stability.
These recent developments underscore the ongoing efforts to combat narco-terrorism and drug trafficking in the region. The decisive actions taken by the U.S. military serve as a deterrent to criminal organizations involved in illicit activities, ultimately contributing to the overall security and well-being of the affected regions.
With the support of allies and partners, the U.S. military continues to disrupt and dismantle drug trafficking networks, making significant strides in combating narco-terrorism and its associated threats. The dedication and vigilance of military forces in carrying out these operations reflect a steadfast commitment to upholding security and stability in the region.
As the fight against narco-terrorism persists, the U.S. military remains resolute in its mission to safeguard the interests of the nation and its allies. The relentless pursuit of justice and security underscores the unwavering commitment to combatting threats posed by drug trafficking activities in the region.
