Victoria Beckham Wasn’t Happy Mel B Said Not to ‘Forget’ Spice Girls Days

Victoria Beckham recently opened up about her time with the Spice Girls in her new three-part documentary special on Netflix. In the documentary, Beckham reflected on reuniting with the girl group during their Return of the Spice Girls Tour in 2008 after they had parted ways in 2001.

During the tour, Beckham shared that Melanie Brown, also known as Scary Spice, had reminded her not to forget where she came from. This comment from Mel B upset Beckham, as she felt that she had never forgotten her roots as Posh Spice. Despite any grumpiness she may have displayed, Beckham acknowledged that Posh Spice was the reason she was where she is today.

While Beckham enjoyed being back with the Spice Girls during the tour, she realized that she didn’t feel like she belonged on stage anymore. The Spice Girls, consisting of Beckham, Brown, Geri Halliwell, Melanie Chisholm, and Emma Bunton, rose to fame in the ‘90s before taking an indefinite hiatus in 2000.

In a recent interview, Beckham shared that she has been defined by her time with the Spice Girls and that it took her almost two decades to come to terms with that part of her life. She admitted that being asked about her time in the girl group was triggering for her, but she now embraces and celebrates that period in her life.

The documentary, titled “Victoria Beckham,” allowed her to reflect on various aspects of her life, including her time with the Spice Girls. Beckham revealed that the documentary touched on her family, the struggles in her business, and the challenges she faced as a celebrity brand.

Despite facing hurdles and criticism, Beckham emphasized that she wanted to learn the industry and understand her trade, rather than just relying on her celebrity status. She also delved into the difficulties her business has faced over the years, shedding light on the journey of building her brand.

“Victoria Beckham” is now available for streaming on Netflix, offering fans a closer look at Beckham’s personal and professional life beyond her time with the Spice Girls. The documentary showcases her growth, challenges, and successes as she continues to evolve as a fashion designer and entrepreneur.
