In the videos, Brown can be seen brawling with several individuals outside a building, with the former Steelers star falling to the ground during the altercation. After getting up, Brown kicked a man before another individual attempted to calm him down. Brown then ran behind parked cars as the situation escalated.
Another video captured a large group of people standing around after what appeared to be gunshots rang out. People can be seen running away in the aftermath of the alleged gunfire. Subsequent footage showed a shirtless Brown being escorted by an officer with his hands behind his back, seemingly in handcuffs, towards a police car.
Despite initial reports of Brown being arrested, he clarified that he had not been taken into custody and was released shortly after the incident. Brown claimed that he was jumped by multiple individuals who tried to steal his jewelry and cause him harm. He stated that he would be pressing charges against those involved in the altercation.
The City of Miami police department received a ShotSpotter Alert around 3 a.m. on the night of the incident but made no arrests and reported no injuries. An arrest warrant was issued for Brown for attempted murder with a firearm, alleging that he fired shots at another man during the altercation.
The warrant states that Brown did not have a weapon on him when officers searched him, but two spent shell casings and an empty gun holster were found. According to reports, cell phone videos allegedly show Brown taking a gun from a security officer and running towards the man he had previously hit.
The alleged victim claimed that Brown shot him twice in the neck area during a struggle for control of the firearm. Following the incident, the man sought medical attention at Aventura Hospital. Brown is now facing a $10,000 bond and is required to remain under house arrest pending a trial.
