Directed by Vietnamese-American filmmaker Kathy Uyen, “Sister Sister” features a talented cast including supermodel-actress Thanh Hang, Vietnamese pop icon Chi Pu, and actor Lanh Thanh. The story follows a celebrity radio presenter who takes in a woman she saves from a violent attack, leading to a gripping tale of psychological control and shifting allegiances between the two.
Produced by Muse Films, “Sister Sister” was the second highest-grossing Vietnamese thriller in 2019, earning $2.7 million at the Vietnamese box office. The film also received recognition at the Busan International Film Festival and the Osaka Asian Film Festival. A sequel released in 2023 further solidified the franchise’s success, earning over $4.6 million domestically.
Skyline Media represents a diverse range of Vietnamese and Southeast Asian titles, distributing content to over 50 countries through more than 130 partnerships worldwide. With the release of “Sister Sister” on Apple TV, Vietnamese cinema continues to make its mark on the global stage.
