Virginia city councilman Lee Vogler set on fire by maniac who dumped 5-gallon bucket of gas on him

A horrific attack took place in Virginia on Wednesday as a man set a city councilman on fire after breaking into his workplace. The victim, Lee Vogler, a Danville city councilman, was targeted in a sickening act of violence at Showcase Magazine.

According to reports from WBTM, the attacker poured a five-gallon bucket of gasoline over Vogler after forcibly entering the workplace. Vogler attempted to flee to the front of the building, but the assailant pursued him and ignited the fuel, setting him ablaze.

As a result of the attack, Vogler is currently being airlifted to a hospital in North Carolina for treatment. The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Shotsie Michael Buck Hayes of Danville, has been apprehended by authorities. It is believed that Hayes had prior knowledge of Vogler before carrying out the violent assault.

Showcase Magazine publisher Andrew Brooks shared an emotional update on Vogler’s condition in a video posted on Facebook. He confirmed that Vogler is awake and speaking, and is being transferred to a burns center in Lynchburg for further care. Brooks expressed heartfelt condolences and solidarity for the councilman during this difficult time.

The incident is still unfolding, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available. Our thoughts and prayers are with Lee Vogler and his loved ones as he undergoes treatment for his injuries.
