Warwick Davis Returns as Professor Flitwick

HBO’s highly anticipated “Harry Potter” TV series is making waves as it fills out the iconic Hogwarts staff and student roster. The latest casting news reveals familiar faces from the original film series, as well as new additions to the magical world.

Warwick Davis, known for his role as Charms Professor Filius Flitwick in the original films, is set to reprise his role in the HBO series. However, this time around, he will solely portray Flitwick, leaving behind his dual role as Griphook. Leigh Gill will step into the role of the goblin banker in the upcoming series.

Joining Davis on the Hogwarts staff are Sirine Saba as Herbology Professor Pomona Sprout, Richard Durden as the ghostly Professor Cuthbert Binns, and Bríd Brennan as Madam Poppy Pomfrey. The lineup of esteemed professors promises to bring depth and authenticity to the magical world of Hogwarts.

On the student front, Elijah Oshin joins the cast as half-blood Dean Thomas, while Finn Stephens and William Nash take on the roles of Draco Malfoy’s loyal cronies, Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle. The diverse student body at Hogwarts is sure to add layers of intrigue and excitement to the series.

Production is currently underway at Warner Bros.’ Leavesden Studios in the U.K., with HBO gradually unveiling its extensive cast for the Wizarding World. Recent casting announcements include the Weasley siblings: Fred, George, Percy, and Ginny. Twins Tristan and Gabriel Harland will play Fred and George Weasley, Ruari Spooner as Percy Weasley, and Gracie Cochrane as Ginny Weasley.

The leading cast members of the series include Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. The star-studded lineup also features John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Nick Frost as Hagrid, and Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall.

HBO’s “Harry Potter” series is set to premiere in 2027 on HBO and HBO Max, with showrunner Francesca Gardiner and director Mark Mylod at the helm. The series is executive produced by J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts, and David Heyman.
