‘We are so back’: MAGA supporters rally around Trump following WSJ article
After facing criticism from some of his staunchest supporters over the handling of the Epstein files, President Donald Trump is now receiving a wave of support following a recent development reported by the Wall Street Journal. The administration’s decision to release grand jury testimony has shifted the narrative and appeased many of Trump’s base.
The initial backlash stemmed from the administration’s announcement that no additional files related to Jeffrey Epstein would be released, despite previous assurances. This decision disappointed many of Trump’s supporters who were eager to uncover potential links to wealthy Democratic elites. Former Trump boosters like Kash Patel and Dan Bongino, who had previously fueled conspiracy theories about an Epstein “client list,” were now in leadership positions within the FBI and contradicted these claims by stating that no such list existed.
However, the tide turned when the Wall Street Journal published a letter allegedly sent by Trump to Epstein in 2003 for his 50th birthday. While Trump denied writing the letter and filed a defamation lawsuit against the Journal, the revelation seemed to galvanize his supporters. Leading voices in the MAGA movement, including Megyn Kelly, Charlie Kirk, Jack Posobiec, Laura Loomer, Benny Johnson, and even Elon Musk, rushed to defend the president.
Posobiec, who had been vocal about the Epstein issue, expressed unity within the MAGA movement, stating, “We’re so back. Everyone is firing on all cylinders. The MAGA movement is completely united behind this fight.” Bannon echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the need to stay on the offensive and praising Trump for standing strong against attempts to undermine him.
Trump’s announcement that he had asked Attorney General Pam Bondi to release grand jury testimony related to the Epstein case was met with applause from his supporters. Johnson celebrated the news as a “victory,” while Kirk urged his viewers to thank Trump for fulfilling his promise. The release of the testimony, however, may take time as officials need to assess its impact and obtain court approval.
While the Journal’s story has shifted focus away from Trump’s handling of the Epstein files towards criticizing the media, the ultimate impact remains uncertain. The release of grand jury transcripts represents only a portion of the Epstein files, leaving some supporters unsatisfied. The administration’s previous release of Epstein-related files in February led to more questions and backlash, indicating that challenges may lie ahead.
Despite these uncertainties, Kirk expressed joy in seeing the MAGA base rallying around Trump once again. The unity displayed in the wake of the Journal’s report signals a renewed sense of support for the president among his base. As Kirk played Joe Cocker’s rendition of “With a Little Help From My Friends” on his show, it served as a symbolic gesture of the MAGA movement coming together to stand by Trump in the face of adversity.
