According to Jacob Petrosky, the founder of Instant Roofer, the increase in remote work opportunities in Denver has been a driving force behind the surge in home investments. “Working from home all day has led residents to prioritize creating a comfortable and functional living space, including a proper home office setup,” Petrosky explained.

Painz emphasizes the importance of vetting vendors thoroughly, as quality often comes with a higher cost. For those considering selling their homes, Painz recommends consulting with a professional to align upgrades with potential buyers’ preferences. He also warns against DIY projects in critical areas like electrical and plumbing work, as well as avoiding high-pressure sales tactics from contractors.

A 2025 report from Thumbtack highlights that homeowners prioritize renovations for happiness rather than resale value. The survey found that 84% of homeowners prefer joy-focused projects, even if they plan to sell their homes. Popular renovation projects include interior painting, window replacements, new flooring, updated light fixtures, and dedicated hobby spaces.
