Xiaomi Redmi 15 Arrives With 7000mAh Battery and One Camera

The Redmi 15 4G budget smartphone has been unveiled with a focus on simplicity, a massive battery, and an interesting camera setup. Xiaomi is streamlining the naming convention for its Redmi series, as seen with the new Redmi 15 4G. Unlike its predecessor, the Redmi Note 14 4G, the new model does away with the “Note” branding.

One standout feature of the Redmi 15 4G is its impressive 7,000mAh battery, signaling Xiaomi’s commitment to providing long-lasting power in its budget-friendly devices. The phone sports a large 6.9-inch FHD+ display with a high 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 850 nits in HBM.

Despite its impressive battery and display, the Redmi 15 4G raises eyebrows with its camera setup. The device only features a single 50MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie camera, omitting additional sensors like ultra-wide or telephoto lenses. Xiaomi has not clarified the purpose of the extra camera elements, leaving users to speculate on their functionality.

The Redmi 15 4G boasts an IP64 certification for water and dust resistance, similar to its predecessor, the Redmi Note 14 5G. It will be available in Sandy Purple, Ripple Green, Titan Gray, and Midnight Black color options. The phone’s substantial battery results in a weight of 214g and a thickness of 8.4mm.

Under the hood, the Redmi 15 4G is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 685 chipset, a departure from the previous MediaTek processor. It will come in configurations of 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage.

The Redmi 15 4G is set to launch in the UK on September 22, with prices starting at £159 for the 6GB/128GB variant and £189 for the 8GB/256GB model. While there is no mention of a 5G model at this time, Xiaomi may release additional information in the future.

Stay tuned for more updates on the Redmi 15 4G as we continue to follow Xiaomi’s latest developments in the smartphone market.
