‘you are all I worry about, love’
Tyler Robinson has been accused of confessing to the murder of Charlie Kirk in a chilling text exchange with his trans partner shortly after allegedly carrying out the assassination. The 22-year-old reportedly revealed to his live-in partner, Lance Twiggs, that he had been planning the killing for a week, according to an indictment filed on Tuesday.
Less than three hours after the killing on September 10th, Robinson instructed Twiggs to search under his keyboard, where he found a note confessing to the plot. The note read, “I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I’m going to take it,” as detailed in the indictment.
Twiggs was aware of Robinson’s alleged involvement in the assassination more than 24 hours before he was apprehended. Upon receiving the shocking revelation, Twiggs immediately reached out to Robinson to inquire if it was a sick joke.
In the text exchange, Robinson admitted to the murder, stating, “I am. I’m sorry.” He also revealed that he had hidden the gun used in the crime, a scoped .30-06-caliber hunting rifle belonging to his grandfather, in nearby bushes where he had changed clothes after the shooting.
Robinson expressed concern about retrieving the rifle to avoid repercussions from his father. Despite the gravity of the situation, Twiggs, who has not been charged with any crime, remained supportive and reassured Robinson of their bond.
The indictment charged Robinson with aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury, and obstruction of justice among seven total counts. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for Robinson, with Utah Governor Spencer Cox affirming the state’s stance on capital punishment.
Governor Cox vowed to pursue the perpetrator with full force, stating, “To whoever did this, we will find you. We will try you, and we will hold you accountable to the furthest extent of the law.” Robinson, described as holding “leftist ideology” and being “radicalized” online in recent years, faces severe consequences if convicted.
The tragic incident involving the assassination of Charlie Kirk has sparked national attention, with demands for justice and closure for the victim’s family and loved ones. The case continues to unfold as authorities work diligently to ensure that justice is served in the wake of this senseless act of violence.
