Young Republicans’ vile group chat praising Hitler, joking about rape exposed: ‘Fat stinky Jew’
The Young Republican groups have come under fire after leaked messages revealed shocking and abhorrent conversations among their leaders. The messages, obtained by Politico, show a disturbing pattern of racism, misogyny, and admiration for Hitler.
One of the leaders, William Hendrix, the vice chair of the Kansas Young Republicans, used racist language, including the n-word multiple times in the private chat app Telegram. Bobby Walker, the vice chair of the New York State Young Republicans at the time, described rape as “epic” in one of the exchanges. These conversations are not only offensive but also deeply troubling.
Peter Giunta, the then-chair of New York’s Young Republicans, made disturbing comments about gas chambers and expressed his love for Hitler. He also made derogatory remarks about Jewish people and African Americans, showing a complete lack of respect and decency.
The leaked chats, totaling 2,900 pages, exposed the toxic culture within these Young Republican groups. The conversations were filled with hate speech, bigotry, and dehumanizing language. It is unacceptable for individuals in positions of leadership to hold such abhorrent views and engage in such vile conversations.
The repercussions of these leaked messages have been swift. One member has lost their job, and another had a job offer rescinded. This serves as a reminder that there are consequences for spreading hate and intolerance.
It is essential for organizations to take a stand against racism, bigotry, and discrimination in all its forms. The Young Republican groups must address these issues within their ranks and take steps to ensure that such behavior is not tolerated. It is only through holding individuals accountable and promoting a culture of respect and inclusivity that meaningful change can occur.
