YouTube Recap Reveals All About Your 2025 Viewing Habits
YouTube has introduced a new feature called YouTube Recap, which is similar to Spotify’s yearly recap but for your video viewing habits. This feature provides a breakdown of your year’s viewing history on the platform, highlighting major themes, interests, favorite channels, and evolving viewing habits.
To access your YouTube Recap, you can find it on the YouTube homepage if it’s available in your region. Otherwise, you can access it under the You tab on both mobile and desktop devices. The Recap analyzes your watch history and presents up to 12 cards showcasing your favorite channels, personality type based on viewing habits (such as Adventurer, Skill Builder, and Creative Spirit), and even your favorite artists, songs, and genres if you use YouTube for music.
However, there’s a catch to using YouTube Recap. If you have turned off the tracking feature that records your watch history, the feature won’t have any data to analyze, and you won’t receive a YouTube Recap. So, for those who enjoy having their viewing history tracked by YouTube for personalized recommendations, the YouTube Recap is now rolling out to North American users and will be available to the rest of the world later this week.
Overall, YouTube Recap offers users a fun and insightful way to reflect on their viewing habits and discover their preferences on the platform. It’s a great way to see what content you’ve been engaging with throughout the year and may even surprise you with some unexpected insights. Whether you’re a casual viewer or a dedicated YouTube enthusiast, YouTube Recap provides a unique way to look back on your year in videos.
