YouTube TV customers set to get $20 credit as Disney battle set to spill into ‘MNF’
YouTube TV Subscribers to Receive $20 Credit Amidst Dispute with ESPN
YouTube TV subscribers will be receiving a $20 credit due to the ongoing battle between the streaming service and ESPN. The dispute, which has resulted in the loss of Disney-owned sports content, has caused frustration among users.
According to a recent email sent to subscribers, YouTube TV stated, “We’ve been working in good faith to negotiate a deal with Disney that pays them fairly for their content and returns their programming to YouTube TV. In light of the disruption, we’re offering our subscribers a $20 credit, which will be applied to their next bill after redemption.”
The email did not provide assurance of a resolution before “Monday Night Football,” leading to concerns among NFL and college football fans who could miss out on more games if the stalemate continues.
YouTube TV had previously warned customers of a possible credit if the disruption persisted, and recent reports indicate that the sides are still far apart on reaching an agreement.
Alternative Ways to Watch ESPN and ABC
For those looking to access ESPN and ABC without YouTube TV, other live TV streaming services like DIRECTV and Sling TV offer affordable plans with access to the affected channels. DIRECTV’s free 5-day trial and Sling TV’s one-day passes provide flexibility and options for sports enthusiasts.
In response to the ongoing dispute, Disney Entertainment executives expressed their concerns about Google’s approach to negotiations, while YouTube TV accused Disney of misrepresentation and leaking documents to the press.
