YouTube TV Plans Pricing & Channels for Sports, News Tiers and More

YouTube TV has introduced new stripped-down bundles this week, offering lower-cost options for consumers looking for genre-specific packages. While not quite a la carte pricing, where customers can choose individual channels, these new plans are designed to attract price-sensitive viewers to the pay-TV service.

The new plans will be gradually rolled out this week and will be available to all U.S. customers in the coming weeks. YouTube TV had previously announced plans to introduce over 10 new lower-cost packages. The main YouTube TV plan, priced at $82.99 per month, includes over 100 networks and remains the most comprehensive option.

One of the most requested plans is the Sports tier, priced at $64.99 per month for existing users and $54.99 per month for new customers (for the first year, with a price increase to $64.99 thereafter). This package includes major broadcast networks like ABC, CBS, Fox, and NBC, as well as sports networks like FS1, NBC Sports Network, and all ESPN networks (including ESPN Unlimited launching in fall 2026).

YouTube TV has unveiled pricing and channel details for the first four genre-specific plans. New users signing up for the Sports + News, Entertainment, and News + Entertainment + Family plans will receive introductory discount pricing for the first three months before transitioning to regular pricing.

Josh Yang, director of product management at YouTube, stated in a blog post that the new plans aim to simplify the TV viewing experience and provide customers with more control over their subscriptions. Subscribers to the new plans will have access to all the features of YouTube TV, including unlimited DVR, the ability to add up to six members to one account, and premium features like key plays and multiview. Customers on the lower-priced plans can also opt for add-ons such as NFL Sunday Ticket, HBO Max, and 4K Plus.

Similar to other pay-TV providers like DirecTV and Fubo TV, YouTube TV is now offering skinnier genre-based packages at a lower cost than standard bundles. The first four genre-focused plans from YouTube TV include Sports, Sports + News, Entertainment, and News + Entertainment + Family, each with different pricing and key channels.

Overall, the introduction of these new genre-specific plans by YouTube TV provides customers with more flexibility and affordability in choosing their TV packages. With a range of options catering to different interests, viewers can now customize their subscription based on their preferences and budget.
