$10,000 reward offered in murder of Uber driver, passenger in East Garfield Park
An Uber driver and his passenger tragically lost their lives in a shocking ambush in East Garfield Park. The incident occurred on Thursday night, leaving Jassen Cho, 38, and his passenger, 18-year-old Damarion Johnson, dead. Cook County Crime Stoppers is now offering a reward of up to $10,000 for any information that could lead to the apprehension of the shooter responsible for this heinous crime.
The victims were traveling in Cho’s white Honda Civic on North Homan Avenue when a gray Chevrolet SUV pulled up beside them. A Black male wearing a gray sweater seated in the back of the SUV opened fire on the unsuspecting victims. Cho sustained a fatal gunshot wound to his arm and was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital. Johnson, on the other hand, suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his body and passed away at Mount Sinai Hospital.
Video footage captured the chilling moment when the gunman fired from the rear seat of the SUV, which potentially had Michigan license plates. The authorities are actively investigating the case and are urging any witnesses or individuals with pertinent information to come forward.
