3 teen girls viciously beat and tase 15-year-old inside NYC subway station: DA

Three Teen Girls Arrested for Brutal Attack on High School Student at Queens Subway Station

Last week, three 16-year-old girls were arrested for a vicious assault on a 15-year-old girl inside a Queens subway station. The victim, a sophomore at William Cullen Bryant High School, was on her way to the 46th Street M and R train station when she was targeted by the violent group of teens.

The assailants cornered the girl on the staircase, where they proceeded to punch, kick, and stomp on her head, face, and body. They also used a taser on her and attempted to steal her backpack. The victim was hospitalized after the attack but is now recovering.

Two of the attackers, both juniors at the same school and residents of Elmhurst, were arraigned on charges including attempted gang assault and attempted robbery. They have been placed in an intensive community monitoring program supervised by probation. If convicted, they could face up to 15 years in prison.

According to Queens DA Melinda Katz, the violent incident was an “outrageous display of bullying and brutality” that will not be tolerated. She emphasized that the victim’s well-being is a top priority and that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.

A third 16-year-old suspect was also arrested in connection to the attack, with an arraignment scheduled for later in the day. The NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch highlighted the increase in youth violence in New York City since 2018, attributing it to the state’s “Raise the Age” law.

Accountability and Justice

Katz stated, “This will not be acceptable behavior here in Queens, and I will hold students accountable for this behavior to the extent the law allows.” She reassured the public that efforts are being made to ensure that such incidents are thoroughly investigated and that all individuals involved are held responsible for their actions.

The attack serves as a stark reminder of the importance of addressing youth violence and promoting a safe environment for all members of the community. As the investigation continues, authorities are committed to ensuring that justice is served and that similar incidents are prevented in the future.
