Cobra Kai Star Courtney Henggeler Quits Acting After 20 Years

Courtney Henggeler, known for her role as Amanda LaRusso in the hit Netflix series “Cobra Kai,” recently made a major announcement regarding her future in the entertainment industry. In a heartfelt post on Substack, Henggeler revealed that after more than 20 years of acting, she has decided to step back from the spotlight.

In her post, Henggeler expressed her desire to transition from being a performer to being more involved behind the scenes. She explained, “I no longer wanted to be a cog in the wheel of the machine. When prompted to know what I did want to do, I simply replied ‘I want to be the machine.'”

“Cobra Kai,” which concluded its successful run in February after seven seasons, originally premiered on YouTube Red before moving to Netflix. Henggeler portrayed Amanda LaRusso, the supportive wife of Daniel LaRusso (played by Ralph Macchio) and the mother of Samantha and Anthony.

Throughout her career, Henggeler has experienced the highs and lows of the acting industry. From small roles on shows like “House” to more recent appearances in films like George Clooney’s “The Boys in the Boat,” she has honed her craft and navigated the challenges of the entertainment world.

In her reflective post, Henggeler pondered the concept of power and self-empowerment. She questioned the traditional paths to success and recognition in the industry, urging readers to consider their own agency and potential. “What if we choose to believe we have the power? What if we had it all along?” she mused. “What if we have been handing our power away because we have been told that this is how it is done?”

As Henggeler embarks on this new chapter in her career, fans and colleagues alike are eager to see where her journey takes her. With her talent, determination, and fresh perspective on the industry, she is sure to make a lasting impact in whatever role she chooses to pursue next.
