Race Across the World Series 5 Elimination Prediction: Three Clues

Race Across the World: Three Signs Pointing Towards Elimination in Episode 3
After a thrilling journey through China, Race Across the World is reaching a critical point as one team faces elimination in the upcoming episode.
Spoilers for Race Across the World series 5 episode 2 below
As per the show’s format, the team that arrives last at the checkpoint will be eliminated. The recent turbulent weather conditions at the second checkpoint have added an extra layer of challenge for the contestants, potentially affecting the outcome for some teams.
While the BBC has kept the elimination results under wraps until episode three airs on May 7th, there are three clear signs that suggest which team may not progress further in the competition.
1. Typhoon Trouble
Of the three teams that made it to checkpoint two in Sanya, sisters Elizabeth and Letitia, brothers Brian and Melvyn, and the young couple Fin and Sioned are in a relatively strong position. However, mother and son duo Caroline and Tom, along with formerly married couple Gaz and Yin, are lagging behind.
Caroline and Tom have reached the island of Hainan and are preparing to move forward, while Gaz and Yin are stuck on the mainland due to ferry delays. Unless Caroline and Tom encounter unforeseen obstacles, Gaz and Yin’s chances of catching up seem slim, creating a significant gap between them and the leading teams.
Despite the uncontrollable weather conditions, Gaz and Yin’s predicament may lead to their elimination from the race.
2. The Trailers Tell All
A close analysis of the episode 1 trailer on BBC iPlayer reveals glimpses of the upcoming destinations, including Nepal and India. One couple, Yin and Gaz, is conspicuously absent from scenes in these countries.
While footage shows other teams in Nepal and India, Gaz and Yin are seen running across a bridge, possibly wet from the typhoon. Unless the trailer is intentionally misleading, it suggests that Gaz and Yin may not make it past checkpoint three.
3. Their Backstory Has Already Been Told
Some pairs, like Brian and Melvyn, have yet to delve into the emotional aspects of their backstory on the show. In contrast, Gaz and Yin shared heartfelt moments in episode two, reflecting on their daughter’s perspective and the challenges of missing her birthday.
As divorced individuals maintaining a close friendship, Gaz and Yin’s narrative has been compelling. The timing of their emotional storyline in the series hints at a potential elimination in the near future.
Race Across the World series 5 continues next Wednesday at 9pm BST on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
