This June, Movistar Plus+ will debut “Pedro x Javis,” a groundbreaking three-part documentary series that celebrates the life and work of acclaimed Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar. Created and hosted by the dynamic duo of filmmakers known as Los Javis – Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, the series offers a unique blend of documentary storytelling, musical performances, and reimagined scenes from Almodóvar’s iconic films.

At the core of “Pedro x Javis” is a candid and intimate conversation between the three directors. Filmed over several days, their discussions are filled with surprising revelations, emotional reminiscences, and previously undisclosed insights into Almodóvar’s remarkable creative journey. Despite Almodóvar’s modesty, his reflections provide a rare glimpse into the mind of the two-time Academy Award winner.

The series features appearances from many of Almodóvar’s legendary collaborators, including actresses Penélope Cruz, Julieta Serrano, Rossy de Palma, and more. Additionally, the documentary includes contributions from Antonio Banderas and key creative partners such as his brother Agustín Almodóvar, cinematographer José Luis Alcaine, and composer Alberto Iglesias.

Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, renowned for their work on “Veneno” and “Paquita Salas,” serve as producers and hosts of “Pedro x Javis.” The stellar creative team also includes Brays Efe and Paloma Rando as screenwriters, Guillermo Mendo as co-director, and other talented individuals who contribute to the series’ success.
