Google Gemini is Coming to Android Auto, Wear OS, Google TV and More

Google is revolutionizing its software offerings by incorporating Gemini into a wider range of devices beyond just smartphones. Initially accessible through phones, Gemini is now set to make its mark on wearables, cars, smart TVs, and mixed reality headsets.
Gemini’s expansion to Wear OS smartwatches is a much-anticipated move. Users will now be able to interact with their smartwatch naturally, without the need for a phone. Whether setting reminders or seeking information shared via email, Gemini on Wear OS will enhance user experience significantly.
Additionally, Gemini will also be integrated into Android Auto, replacing Google Assistant with its contextually aware AI capabilities. This integration aims to streamline user interactions in the car, reducing the need for manual screen tapping or specific directional prompts. By enabling natural language communication, Gemini on Android Auto will cater to complex requests seamlessly, such as locating a charging station en route to a specific destination.
The expansion of Gemini doesn’t stop there. Google is bringing this AI tool to Google TV, allowing users to seek recommendations, ask general knowledge questions, and access relevant YouTube videos effortlessly. Furthermore, Gemini will collaborate with the Android XR platform to enhance experiences on mixed reality headsets, offering travel assistance and immersive content like videos, maps, and local tips.
Google is set to unveil more details about Gemini and its software updates at the upcoming Google I/O 2025 event on May 20. The event is expected to showcase Android 16 and Google’s new Material 3 Expressive design language. Regardless of the updates announced, Gemini AI will undoubtedly remain at the core of Google’s software advancements.
