Raising Kanan’ to End With Season 5, Shameik Moore

The popular Starz series "Power Book III: Raising Kanan" is set to conclude with its upcoming fifth season, as reported by Variety. Fans of the show just witnessed the fourth season finale, which aired recently on the network. The announcement of the fifth season was made in March 2024, but it was only revealed now that it will be the final season of the series.

SPOILER ALERT FOR THE “RAISING KANAN” SEASON 4 FINALE

In exciting news for fans, actor Shameik Moore has joined the cast for the fifth and final season of the show. Moore made his debut appearance in the Season 4 finale as the character Branford “Breeze” Frady, who was frequently mentioned but never seen before in the series.

“I’m honored to step into the iconic role of Breeze,” said Moore. “It’s gonna be a wild ride.”

Breeze, a notorious drug kingpin from Queens, has been a part of the “Power” universe for some time. In the season finale, Kanan (MeKai Curtis) is introduced to Breeze by Snaps (Wendell Pierce) and Pop (Erika Woods). This introduction sets the stage for an intense and action-packed final season.

Series showrunner Sascha Penn expressed his gratitude for being able to tell the complete story he envisioned for "Raising Kanan." He promised viewers that the stakes for Kanan and the Thomas family have never been higher, hinting at an explosive and satisfying conclusion for the loyal fans of the "Power" universe.

The cast for Season 5 includes not only MeKai Curtis, Wendell Pierce, and Erika Woods but also Joey Bada$$, London Brown, Malcolm Mays, Hailey Kilgore, and Tony Danza. Penn serves as an executive producer and showrunner for the series, with Courtney A. Kemp, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, and Mark Canton also executive producing.

As "Raising Kanan" approaches its final season, it joins the ranks of other "Power" spinoffs that have either ended or are coming to a close. "Power Book II: Ghost" concluded after four seasons, while the final season of "Power Book IV: Force" is currently in production. Additionally, Starz has announced a Ghost & Tommy prequel series titled “Power: Origins” in development.

With the end of "Raising Kanan" in sight, fans can look forward to an intense and satisfying conclusion to the beloved series that has captivated audiences with its gripping storytelling and compelling characters.
