Trump Melts Down And Calls For The Arrest Of Gavin Newsom As His California Escalation Fails

Things are not going well for Trump in California. The president is attempting to create a crisis, but California isn’t taking the bait.

After Trump’s border czar backed off on arresting Gov. Gavin Newsom, Trump decided to suggest that it would be a great idea to arrest the governor of California. Trump expressed his thoughts to reporters, stating, “I would do it if I were Tom. I think it’s great. Gavin likes the publicity, but I believe he’s done a terrible job. Look, he’s, I like Gavin Newsom. He’s a nice guy, but he’s grossly incompetent. Everybody knows. All you have to do is look at the little railroad he is building. It’s about a hundred times over budget. We’re putting a flag pole over there. Under budget, I always do. Under.”

Trump also labeled the people protesting as insurrectionists, claiming, “The people that are causing the problem are professional agitators, they’re insurrectionists, they’re bad people. They should be in jail.”

However, Trump’s plans seem to be crumbling as California remains defiant. The Trump administration is hesitant to arrest Gavin Newsom, as Newsom has been daring them to do so to call Trump’s bluff. Trump’s desperation is evident as he hoped for chaos and violence in Southern California to portray himself as a strongman by sending in the National Guard.

Trump’s meltdown is a clear indication of his growing desperation. He is seeking to make an example of Los Angeles to deter other cities from resisting his administration’s immigration actions. Trump’s habit of calling for arrests when situations backfire on him is a tell-tale sign of his predicament. He appears to be trapped in a corner, and his outburst is a sign that he is looking for a way out.
