How Fox News’ Gianno Caldwell sought justice for his murdered brother

The tragic day my younger brother lost his life in 2022 will forever be etched in my memory. It was a senseless act of violence that took place in the Morgan Park neighborhood of Chicago. As my brother stood with his friends, a black SUV pulled up, and gunmen opened fire, causing chaos and devastation in mere seconds.

Christian, just 18 years old, was not the intended target. He was a bright young man with a promising future ahead of him. His untimely death shattered our family and left us grappling with grief and disbelief. I was determined to understand why such senseless acts of violence continue to plague our communities and what can be done to prevent future tragedies.

In my quest for answers, I delved into the world of philanthropy, politics, and the criminal justice system. One name that kept resurfacing in my research was George Soros. A billionaire investor known for his support of progressive causes, Soros has channeled millions of dollars into local district attorney campaigns across the country. These efforts have had a detrimental impact on communities like Chicago, where soft-on-crime policies have fueled a surge in violence.

I testified before a House Judiciary Committee, holding figures like Kim Foxx and Lori Lightfoot accountable for their role in enabling the crime epidemic in Chicago. These individuals, along with other Soros-backed prosecutors across the country, have prioritized their own agendas over public safety, contributing to the loss of innocent lives like my brother’s.

The erosion of law and order in cities like Chicago and Los Angeles prompted me to seek refuge in Miami, where leadership is committed to upholding the rule of law and ensuring public safety. Mayor Francis Suarez and Governor Ron DeSantis have implemented policies that have led to a significant decrease in crime rates, setting an example for other cities to follow.

As I reflect on the path to a safer society, I am reminded of the importance of investing in law enforcement, enforcing existing laws, and addressing the root causes of crime. By holding accountable those responsible for upholding the law, we can work towards creating a more just and secure society for all. My journey through America’s violent crime crisis has reinforced the need for decisive action and unwavering commitment to public safety.

Gianno Caldwell, a political analyst for Fox News, is the founder of the Caldwell Institute for Public Safety and the author of “The Day My Brother Was Murdered: My Journey Through America’s Violent Crime Crisis.” His insights and advocacy for a safer society serve as a beacon of hope in the fight against senseless violence.
