Joe Rogan told cops Liver King appears ‘unstable,’ and heard influencer had a ‘significant drug issue’
Fitness influencer Brian Johnson, also known as the “Liver King,” was arrested after making threatening posts towards podcaster Joe Rogan on social media. Rogan, who was contacted by police about the situation, expressed concern over Johnson’s mental stability and drug issues. Rogan stated that he had never interacted with Johnson and considered the posts to be threatening.
Johnson, 47, traveled to Austin, where Rogan resides, and continued to make menacing posts against the UFC commentator. Police apprehended Johnson at the Four Seasons Hotel in Austin and charged him with Terroristic Threat, a Class B misdemeanor. Despite his previous admission to using steroids to achieve his physique, Johnson’s mugshot showed a disheveled appearance, with bags under his eyes.
After being released on bond, Johnson was ordered to have no contact with Rogan or his family, undergo a mental health evaluation, and not possess firearms. Although Johnson has not been a guest on Rogan’s podcast, he has been mentioned in discussions about bodybuilding and performance-enhancing drugs.
In his online rants, Johnson challenged Rogan to a fight, claiming he had a “family to fight for” and expressing a desire to be choked out by Rogan. Despite his arrest, Johnson continued to post videos on Instagram, addressing the situation and mentioning Rogan’s comedy club, “Mothership.”
Rogan has not publicly commented on Johnson’s arrest or the ongoing feud. The incident serves as a reminder of the potential dangers of social media and the importance of mental health awareness.
