Eerie ‘premonition’ inspires Lotto player to buy $80K ticket, but she has to save it from trash
Woman’s Sixth Sense Leads Her to $80,000 Lottery Win
One woman’s trash turned out to be her treasure when she almost threw away an $80,000 winning lottery ticket. Pamela Howard-Thorton from Shepherdsville, Kentucky, had a gut feeling that she should buy a $5 Flamingo Bingo scratch-off lottery ticket, and that decision paid off big time.
According to the Kentucky Lottery, Howard-Thorton had a premonition that she should purchase the ticket and finally acted on it at a Speedway in Lebanon Junction. This decision came after she had won $200 from a previous scratch-off ticket and decided to buy four more tickets.
After leaving the tickets on the counter all day, Howard-Thorton finally decided to scratch them off that night. The first three tickets were not winners, so she threw them away. However, when she couldn’t find the fourth ticket, she realized she had accidentally tossed it in the trash.
Fortunately, Howard-Thorton retrieved the ticket from the trash and scanned it, only to discover that she had won the $80,000 top prize. Overjoyed, she called her daughter and mother to share the exciting news. Her mother, who had always wished to see her daughter win a big prize, was particularly thrilled by the news.
After taxes, Howard-Thorton’s final prize will be $57,600. She plans to use the money to buy herself a new car, pay bills, and share some of her winnings with her mother.
