Le Clare’s Patisserie will convert into culinary space on Colfax

Le Clare’s Patisserie, known for its delectable pastries and sweets, will be closing its retail operation on July 19 after just one year of business. The decision comes as a result of construction on East Colfax Avenue, which has significantly impacted foot traffic to the area.

Owner Maggie Kates has announced plans to transform the space into ViDa Eats Culinary Collaborative, a unique culinary hub offering a variety of experiences including cooking classes, Airbnb culinary adventures, private dining, seasonal high tea parties, themed events, and catering services for custom desserts, charcuterie, and small bites.

Despite the challenges posed by the ongoing Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line construction project, Kates remains optimistic about the future of the new venture. “Instead of closing our doors, we choose to pivot and create a space that fosters community and collaboration,” she shared on social media.

While Le Clare’s storefront will no longer operate as a traditional bakery, the shift to ViDa Eats Culinary Collaborative will allow for more engagement with customers and a deeper connection to the stories and inspirations behind the food.

Le Clare’s originally opened its doors in July 2024 and has since gained a loyal following for its artisanal pastries and desserts.
