King Soopers closing Centennial location next month

King Soopers in Centennial will be closing its store located at 5050 E. Arapahoe Road on August 16th. The decision is part of a larger plan by Kroger, the grocery chain’s parent company based in Cincinnati, to close 60 stores over the next 18 months. Employees at the closing store are being offered the opportunity to transfer to other locations.

Fortunately, there is another King Soopers just 1.25 miles north of the soon-to-be shuttered store. As of now, no other closures in Colorado have been announced.

In Denver, a new King Soopers is currently being constructed at 4201 E. Arkansas Ave. This new store will replace the existing one at 825 S. Colorado Blvd.
