NFL teams will again stencil messages in the end zone

The National Football League (NFL) is once again taking a stand for social justice on the field, marking the sixth consecutive season of on-field messaging. Each of the 32 teams will display an end zone message of their choice at every home game throughout the season, with options including “End Racism,” “Stop Hate,” “Choose Love,” or “Inspire Change.” Additionally, the phrase “It Takes All of Us” will be prominently featured in the opposite end zone for all games. The only change from the previous season is the replacement of “Vote” with “Inspire Change.”

These messages will complement the league’s other cause campaigns such as Salute to Service and Crucial Catch, which will also be showcased in end zones during select weeks of the season. Anna Isaacson, the NFL’s senior vice president of social responsibility, emphasized the league’s commitment to amplifying player voices and promoting unity. She stated, “For decades, the NFL and its players have been a unifying force in American culture, bringing people of all backgrounds together to enjoy America’s most popular sport.”

In addition to the domestic games, the league will continue to use “End Racism” and “It Takes All of Us” in the back of end zones for all international games for the second consecutive season. The reigning Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, will kick off the NFL schedule on September 4 against the Dallas Cowboys with the message “Choose Love.” They will rotate all four league-approved end zone messages throughout the season.

“Choose Love,” introduced in 2022, has become a unifying message of healing and hope, particularly following a tragic shooting in Buffalo that claimed the lives of 10 people. Players will have the option to display one of the five messages on their helmets this season, further emphasizing their commitment to social justice causes.

Since 2017, the NFL has allocated over $460 million to numerous grant partners and grassroots organizations through its Inspire Change initiative, benefiting communities in need. Inspire Change has supported over 650 nonprofits and 2,100 players and alumni, focusing on mentorship, workforce development, and food insecurity.

The NFL’s dedication to social justice initiatives underscores its role as a unifying force in American society. By using its platform to promote important messages and support communities in need, the league continues to make a positive impact both on and off the field.
