‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ Season 3 Sets Premiere Date, Unveils Teaser
The highly anticipated third season of “Jujutsu Kaisen” is set to premiere in January 2026, as announced by Crunchyroll during a special live-stream event celebrating the fifth anniversary of the critically acclaimed anime series. Titled “Jujutsu Kaisen The Culling Game,” the upcoming season will adapt the manga arc of the same name.
Fans can look forward to Crunchyroll streaming the new season exclusively worldwide, with episodes releasing weekly on the same day as their Japanese broadcast. The teaser trailer for the third season gives a glimpse into the intense conflicts and battles that await the characters, particularly protagonist Yuji Itadori who is grappling with the aftermath of the “Shibuya Incident.” The trailer also teases a showdown between Yuji and Yuta Okkotsu from the prequel film “Jujutsu Kaisen 0,” as well as confrontations involving new characters Naoya Zen’in and Choso.
Returning to helm the animation for the new season is MAPPA, with Shota Goshozono directing and Hiroshi Seko overseeing series composition and script writing. Character designs will be provided by Yosuke Yajima and Hiromi Niwa. The stellar Japanese voice cast includes Junya Enoki as Yuji Itadori, Yuma Uchida as Megumi Fushiguro, Daisuke Namikawa as Choso, and Megumi Ogata as Yuta Okkotsu.
“Jujutsu Kaisen,” based on Gege Akutami’s manga, has achieved immense success globally, selling over 100 million copies worldwide. The anime series has garnered numerous accolades, including Anime of the Year at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards in 2021 and 2024. The franchise’s theatrical film, “Jujutsu Kaisen 0,” was also a hit, winning Best Anime Film at the 2023 Crunchyroll Anime Awards and grossing a staggering $180 million at the global box office.
Produced by Toho Animation and published by Viz Media in the U.S., “Jujutsu Kaisen” has captivated audiences with its compelling storylines and dynamic characters. As fans eagerly await the premiere of the third season in 2026, the franchise continues to solidify its place as a powerhouse in the world of anime and manga.
