Nothing Tips New Product with Pokémon-themed Codename Reveal
Exciting news has been teased by Nothing, leaving fans of the London-based tech brand scratching their heads in anticipation. A retro image of the Pokémon Feraligatr was shared on X, hinting at a new product on the horizon. Known for giving its products Pokémon-themed codenames, Nothing has sparked curiosity about what this mysterious new release could be.
While the details remain shrouded in mystery, there are some clues that suggest what the upcoming product might not be.
Nothing Feraligatr Product Speculation
Community Manager Rob Goodwin shared the same image on the Nothing community page with the title ‘Here comes Feraligatr’. He hinted at a new product with the statement, “New codename = New product,” inviting speculation from eager fans.
The mention of a “new product” indicates that it is unlikely to be a Nothing Phone (3) Pro or Ultra. Additionally, Nothing’s CEO Carl Pei previously stated that the 3 series of phones was complete with the launch of the Nothing Phone (3) in July, ruling out a new addition to that lineup.
Nothing
Speculation suggests that the Nothing Feraligatr could be the Nothing Phone (3a) Community Edition, a variant of an existing model created in collaboration with fans. However, it may not qualify as a completely new product. The absence of a unique codename for the Nothing Phone (2a) Community Edition, as seen with the Nothing Phone (2a) ‘Aerodactyl’, further adds to the mystery.
Nothing Tablet or Smartwatch?
Rumors are circulating that the Nothing Feraligatr could mark Nothing’s entry into the tablet market or its first premium smartwatch under the Nothing brand. While the brand has previously released smartwatches under the CMF budget sub-brand, such as the CMF Watch Pro 2, a move into the high-end smartwatch market could be on the horizon.
Amidst the excitement, many Nothing phone users are eagerly awaiting the promised Android 16 update, expected later this autumn. Interestingly, Feraligatr is Pokédex number 160, leading to speculation that Nothing may have been hinting at a new software product all along.
The possibilities are endless, and fans are eagerly awaiting more details to unravel the mystery behind Nothing’s enigmatic teaser.
