Trump to host tech CEOs over dinner for inaugural event in Rose Garden
President Trump and the first lady hosted a high-profile gathering of tech and business leaders in the newly renovated Rose Garden at the White House. The event brought together industry giants such as Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg, Apple CEO Tim Cook, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, and OpenAI founder Sam Altman.
The dinner meeting followed a separate White House event on artificial intelligence hosted by the first lady, Melania Trump. This gathering highlighted the complex relationship between Trump and the Big Tech sector, with many executives seeking closer ties with the administration.
Other notable attendees included OpenAI president Greg Brockman, Google co-founder Sergey Brin, Palantir CTO Shyam Sankar, and Meta’s superintelligence team leader Alexandr Wang. CEOs like Sundar Pichai of Google, Satya Nadella of Microsoft, Safra Catz of Oracle, and David Limp of Micron Technology were also present.
Venture capitalist David Sacks, serving as the White House’s crypto and AI czar, was expected at the event, along with Shift4 founder Jared Isaacman. However, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who had a tumultuous relationship with the president, was notably absent from the guest list.
