Yardi Systems sues Centennial landlord after ‘accidentally’ paying $240K in rent

A real estate software firm, Yardi Systems Inc., is suing its former landlord, Hoehn Management Group, for $750,000 after accidentally overpaying rent by $15,000 per month for 16 consecutive months. Yardi claims it leased space at Highland Place I in Centennial for 11 years until September 2024, with an amicable relationship with the landlord.

After moving out in September 2023, Yardi mistakenly continued to send rent payments to Hoehn until February 2025, totaling $240,000. Despite demanding a refund, Hoehn allegedly ignored the requests. Yardi’s lawsuit alleges breach of contract and civil theft, seeking $750,000 plus interest.

Hoehn Management, owned by Jonathan Hoehn, is also set to purchase the neighboring Highland Place II for a significantly reduced price in July. The legal battle between Yardi and Hoehn continues as both parties stand firm on their positions.
