Erika Kirk, widow of Charlie Kirk, spoke publicly for the first time since his tragic death, referring to him as a “martyr” during a live-streamed address on Friday night.
She expressed gratitude to law enforcement, first responders, President Donald Trump, and Vice President JD Vance at the beginning of her speech.
Addressing President Trump directly, she said, “My husband loved you, and he knew that you loved him too.”
This marks Erika Kirk’s first public statement following the shooting that took her husband’s life while he was speaking at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.
“I will never be able to fully articulate the depth of my loss,” she shared. “I am at a loss for words. I trust that God knows, even if I do not.”
Erika Kirk’s remarks coincided with the capture of the suspect, Tyler Robinson, who has been charged with several felony offenses in connection with the shooting.
“The individuals behind my husband’s murder have unleashed something they cannot comprehend,” she stated. “His mission is now more powerful than ever.”
