King Soopers to open new marketplace store in Louisville

Construction has officially begun on the newest King Soopers location in Louisville, with plans to transform and expand the former retail site at 1171 W. Dillon Rd. into a state-of-the-art Marketplace store.

The upcoming 122,000-square-foot Marketplace store will offer a variety of amenities, such as a sushi bar, a Murray’s Cheese Shop, and a Starbucks cafe. Customers can also take advantage of convenient pickup and delivery services, a drive-thru pharmacy, and a new fuel center featuring five pumps and eight EV charging stations.

President of King Soopers, Chris Albi, expressed excitement about the project, stating, “We are thrilled to bring another store to the Louisville community and to continue being a strong community partner. This expansion allows us to better serve our dedicated customers and invest in the future of this area.”

The anticipated opening of the new store is set for the summer of 2026, with expectations to create over 250 job opportunities. This development represents a significant $23.6 million investment and aligns with King Soopers’ long-term growth strategy.

Moreover, as part of their Zero Hunger | Zero Waste social impact initiative, King Soopers has contributed $5,000 to Community Food Share, a local food bank dedicated to combating food insecurity in Boulder and Broomfield counties.

With a workforce of over 22,000 employees and 120 grocery stores spread across 37 cities in Colorado, King Soopers continues to be a prominent presence in the state’s retail landscape.
